Heritage day long weekend

Well hello everyone. I have been a little lax on writing lately. The days just seem to go by so quickly. A lot has happened. Canyon, of course has been growing and growing and growing. I can't believe the changes he has gone through. It is almost as if you can see it daily. He is now just over 3 months old, down to feeding every 3 hours during the day (a great break for mom) and sleeps 8 hours each night. I have been very blessed. I can't remember life before him.

We have been doing a lot of visiting lately. Opa (my dad) was in the hospital for almost a week after falling off a 20 foot high roof. Anyone else would have been in really bad shape but my dad must have had an angel cushion his blow cause he only broke his hip. That guardian angel must be exhausted from watching out for him.

We have also been visiting Oma (my mom) on the farm. She just loves to see Canyon every week and see how much he has changed since the last visit. It is such a beautiful drive by all the acreages and has changed so much since I lived there in high school.

Grandma and Grandpa Anderson also love it when we visit. They now phone and invite Canyon for lunch and ask him to bring along his parents. I guess we are now second fiddle to our little boy. On the last visit, we encountered a bear in their basement. Luckily, he was friendly and in the mood for a photo op. (Thanks Dave - hope you don't mind). Dave likes to hunt and he and Priscilla have left the trophies in Grandma and Grandpa's basement while they are building their new house.

Gerald has been pretty busy finishing up his deck project in Pumphill. He should be done by the end of next week. He has now hired a guy to help him full time. Gerald has been working pretty hard lately and is ready for this long weekend. In fact, tonight, we are going on a date while Scott and Colette babysit Canyon. Our first dinner and a movie in over 3 months. I am so looking forward to it.

Well, I should run. Hope you all have a wonderful long weekend.
