Almost 4 months

Hey Everyone,

I can't believe it.... tomorrow Canyon will be 17 weeks (and officially 4 months old on Thursday!). My how time flies. Yesterday at church I met a woman whose son was 4 days old and I couldn't believe that Canyon was that small just a brief time ago.

He has done so many things that are his firsts lately. Last Monday, he rolled over onto his tummy for the first time. He is still unsure if he likes this tummy position. He can now reach out and grab his toys. He really likes his Crab rattle. He can stand up (if we support him of course) and he can even almost sit up on his own (he tends to tip over to one side after about 10 seconds). I am just so amazed. And his laughter is so contagious. His eyes just light up when he laughs. Then he goes to sleep and looks like a little angel. Can you tell I am in love with my son?

We have gotten into a new routine on Sunday mornings. We now go out to A&W for breakfast as a family and then take the dogs to the Southland dog park for a long walk and a swim in the river. It has been such a nice way to spend time together.

Last Sunday we went down to Claresholm to visit my dad and then headed out to Millarville to visit Dave and Priscilla at their new acreage. We were joined by Lenna and David's relatives and had a little camp fire going with some burgers and taber corn for dinner. We brought Hunter and Walker some silly string and they made a wonderful mess. Walker was so excited to see the string fly out of the can when he pushed the nozzle.

This week I am going to try something new... making jelly. Scott and Colette picked clean their apple trees this weekend and are saving me some apples. I have never made jelly but both Glenna (Gerald's mom) and Colette say that it is easy to do. I will let you know.

This weekend Gerald was working on finishing the siding on our house and garage. I tried to help him out when I could. The outside of the house looks so great now. It makes quite a difference from seeing just Tyvex the last couple of months. I can't wait until we start on the front of the house.

Canyon liked to hang out in his exersaucer outside while we worked. He really loves the fresh air. He loves to watch the leaves move on the trees and see all the colors of the flowers.

Our life group is waiting for the arrival of Heather's new baby. She is due tomorrow and we are praying for a healthy delivery. We hope to hear soon if she has a new baby boy or girl. If it is a girl she will be in trouble since both Micah (Kristine's baby boy who is 2 days younger than Canyon) and Canyon will be vying for her attention when they are teenagers. If she has a boy then I am sure the three of them will be up to plenty of mischief together. Either way, look out everyone.

Well, I should run. I added lots of pictures in this blog cause they were uploading so quickly. Hope everyone is doing well and I will try to update soon.

Ciao,

Michelle

Michelle,

Our boys are going to be crazy over Heather's baby girl 'Maija Louise'. I hope you got my message today and hopefully we will figure out a day to visit Heather and Maija soon.

Call me,
Kristine
