Father's day

Happy Father's day to all you pops out there. Gerald celebrated his first father's day this past Sunday. We did a typical dad thing - went out golfing while Opa (my dad) babysat. We had a lot of fun and were joined by brother Scott and his wife Colette. The only one keeping score was Scott since Gerald and I were nowhere near par. It was good practice though. And since Canyon was being bottle fed during our game, I was able to indulge in a little alcoholic beverage. Not much though - 0nly about half a bottle of cooler. I have to rebuild my alcohol tolerance after a year of going without.

Gerald is pretty taken by little Canyon. He and Canyon like to spend the evenings together watching sports on the big screen tv downstairs. He even lets Canyon hold the remote. I don't even get to hold the remote ;( I get a little quiet time out of the deal while I make some dinner.

I now get to be the little homemaker. I am learning how to cook and have even started using the cookbooks we got for wedding presents. They have been gathering a lot of dust in our cupboard. I haven't gone overboard by any means but have made the initiative to get a replacement paddle for my breadmaker that I happen to lose when we moved 2 years ago. so far I have only made banana bread. Oh well, baby steps.

Well, gonna run. The Netherlands are playing Argentina and I want to catch some of it while Canyon is napping.

Bye,
Michelle
